My good buddy Jason, better known as – My!Gay!Husband! in Canadaland, has sent me some sweet summer club edits for your listening pleasure. Definitely worth a listen, M!G!H! kills it night after night in Vancouver at Glory Days, Blastramp and a ton of other special events. Check out his MySpace for everything he’s up to (parties w/Amanda Blank, Franki Chan, Harlem Shakes etc. etc.)
Get it here first -

Got to Vancouver and slid through customs no big dealllll.

(peep the reba shirt i wore all 4 days. so slimy)
Rony however spent 3 hours getting told “a Canadian could do his job” and he was getting sent home. Shitttty but Jason and the biltmore worked it out with customs and all was okay with the world.
Lindsay and Nigel grabbed me from the airport and after a cup of jo from Tim Hortons I was red’ to go. I was also feeling like death because I don’t ever drink coffee, I just wanted to start this canadian trip off on a proper note and whats more canadian than Tim Hortons?
We got to Lindsays I dropped my stuff off and headed to catch Kid Sis and and Gant Man’s set at this LG festival thing in Downtown Van. Rony and I cruised over with Jason (M!G!H!) and Dax and threw away some “twoneez” on lottery tickets. Rony won 2$ so we knew things were looking up haha.

When we got there it was kind of empty but Team Canada was rockin the stage and the beer gardens were full of snowboarder types. I grabbed some free gum and tried to stay warm until Gant Man and Kid Sis hopped on stage. Kid Sis killed it and Gant’s hype man skills are unmatched. A-Trak showed up later but I had to cut out and get ready for my gig. Rony and I left Dax and Jason at the venue and went to Lindsays to be a part of her mini going away party, all of the crew was there and the baby duck was flowing like it always seems to be in Vancouver lol.
I passed out in a chair from sheer exhaustion (see above) and everyone partied around me for a good 45 mins. But little did they know that disco nap was just what I needed and after making a mini VDAY playlist we headed to Biltmore for Glory Daysssss.
I played mostly 4×4, Speed Garage, Bassline type stuff and everyone was feeling it. I love you vancouuuuverrrrr. Gant Man came on and did his thing after me and Juked the shit out of Van city people love to dance in van and are really open minded which always makes for good times. Hopefully next time I head back I can actually run into Felix Cartal in his hometown haha.
Next stop was Torontoessss. So we’ll continue in pt. 4
Fan death is a South Korean urban legend which states that an electric fan, if left running overnight in a closed room, can cause the death (by suffocation, poisoning, or hypothermia) of those inside…
Fan Death is also a really amazing Canadian band.
I was pretty stoked to get some pictures of the band last Saturday when they opened for Metronomy at Glory Days in Vancouver. The show was insanity and completely lived up to the hype (THE HYPE: “An all to the floor disco pop cut filled with electro coolness.” – badrobot.co.uk)

Check out the video for Veronica’s Veil, which was released December 8 on Phantasy.
More info on the band’s Myspace

I’ve decided that I’m totally going to be Eatskeet’s Canadian Content affiliate for a while. Last week it was Fake-Shark, this week it’s Vancouver’s The Clips – a dancey and funky, poppy and melodic quintet with more intensity & style then you could shake a stick at.
The Clips new album, Matterhorn, was given a great review by Pitchfork back in October ’08 – but you should probably just watch their video for Space Kidz and see how rad The Clips are for yourself.
Long time reader, first time poster – Lindsay here…
It was about a year ago that I met Trevor at a party I helped organize here in Vancouver, B.C. He asked if I’d like to post on his blog sometime and OF COURSE, I said yes.. but then I got really cold feet (how would I know what eatskeet visitors would want to read about?!).
I’m feeling brave today, but only so I can post about the EP some of my very best friends (who just so happen to be big in Japan [I've always wanted to say that]) have just released on itunes. Fake Shark-Real Zombie! released ‘Angel Lust’ January 9th, it’s a teaser for the band’s second full-length, Meeting People Is Terrible, which is due out sometime in the Spring.
Check out a review of the band here

Now go buy the Angel Lust EP on itunes! or at least visit their myspace to hear their first album and the most amazing cover of Sour Times ever.
There’s my post! Happy Friday! xx
Yes fucked. Dammmmmmn.
Worse case scenario below.
This blog is getting kinda political huh? Sorry I guess this is just where my heads at. I’m thinking berlin or vancouver? Probably Berlin?
Vancouver was so much fun, it was really more vacation than work. I don’t normally get to travel with friends so going with Rony and Lauren made it really great.
We landed in Canada and almost didn’t get in. Rony and I were too lazy to set up work permits so explaining ronys 8 bags of photo gear wasn’t the easiest thing in the world haha.
Luckily we got in and were greeted by the lovely Lindsays and this sign

Then we got in the car and headed out to Lindsay’s where we ordered Panago, met up with Jacob, Luis, Sydney and other friends.

Then we went to the gig at “No Tofu Studio” people were dancing and gettin down (Agnes and Jax?)

These kids were dope.

Then out of nowhere the cops showed up and kicked out 60 people and made us turn the music down a bunch. This didnt deter the couv’ though, shit kept on cracking. I opened with MIA – Paper Planes shit got cracking.

In all the madness I lost my glasses, so I left kind of bummed on that but luckily the day before I left this girl found em and I went and got em.
The next day we went to Karaoke at night and as soon as the videos of Rony and I singing Shaggy “It wasn’t me” are posted on the internet, I will have lost all my cred.
On Monday we went Tobogganing and it was dope. It was like a 3 hour mission to get there, the first mountain was closed and the second one we went to was in the middle of a snowstorm so the durango was sliding all over on the way up. Anyways when we got there we all started taking out cameras and filming our selves going down. Rony was filming louis and dude slammed into him, mad funny.
That night we ended up going to the half alive Soul/Mod night and I danced with Shea the homegirl till everybody wanted to leave. We went back to lindsays and watched internet movies until we all blacked out. I turned out the light in my room, and it turned back on in like 3 minutes which was some bizzarre poltergeist shit. Shea and I totally freaked lindsay in the morning when we told her cuz I guess she’s always thought there were ghosts.
Shea and I pre poltergeist experience.

After the ghost cloned shea and ateme.

Anyways tonight is Kristin Cavalarri’s bday @ stonerose come hang with me.

So today I went tobogganing with my girls the Lindsay’s, Louis (Fake Shark! Real Zombie) and Rony and his girlfriend Lauren. We went to Seymour mountain in West Vancouver, and it was awesome. I bought some boots and snow-pants for SUNDANCE ON SATURDAY. Also after Sundance I go to Miami with the Boys.

I come back tomorrow and do this Private event at StoneRose all I know is it’s some “celebrity driven” thang so that means more clubby club mainstream tunes. Then according to my booking agent thursday i’m linking up with Katy P’s fav Travis from Gym Class and we’re going to Kristin Cavalarris’ bday that I’m DJing. Friday is San Francisco also. Man this is the most scatterbrained blog post ever let’s get to the highlights and low-lights on the internet.
LA Streetwear Vs. Hipster Drama unfolds into a lawsuit (Arab Parrot Vs. Steve Aoki)
The Party i’m doing in sundance is below basically it’s gonna be EPIC

Now i’m going to dinner at incendios this italian restaurant. Vancouver is awesome in case you haven’t gathered that yet.
Rony is across from me right now in a v-neck, he wanted to wear a long sleeve shirt to the mountain this morning, he hadn’t seen snow since he was 7, i’m gonna post em when i get back to LA they’re crizazy.
Okay I gotta go eat. And in case you haven’t picked a side pick one and VOTE! My vote goes to Canada.

Sooo i’m once again in the hotel in san diego laiiiiiddddd out.
Went to RVCA today and met up with Liz who took me to wearhouse and laced me out. Liz is awesome. I see her like once every 2 months and she’s always incredible. On the way down to OC I realized I didn’t have my passport and tomorrow Rony, Lauren and I are going to Vancouver for the Lindsay’s party at “NO TOFU STUDIO” clearly the best named club in the northern hemisphere. So anyways i had to drive back and get my passport which is good news because I realized I forgot my needles.
I’m kind of a wreck. But here are some things that are keeping me preoccupied at the Hotel.
This chain reaction video is EPIC, and not like i normally use epic like how I just throw it around. This is supposedly 30 minutes long or some shit. All the info is in the comments on the actual youtube page.
THE DECAPITATOR (Street Artist)
This dude or girl or animal? Is awesome, this is some awesome subversive street art. A lot of people are attempting to be “street artists” now and a lot of people are doing it wrong, this person is doing it really right.
