So cisco and I were supposed to leave yesterday at 7:40am on Virgin… time change, going out, and blackout curtains put an end to that idea real quick. So luckily we were able to reschedule for today at 9:30am, I woke up at 8:40 and we’re in midtown fuck fuck fuck.
It’s kind of incredible because I slept through the unfadeable blackberry alarm which never lets me down. I even skipped Beatrice last night so i’d definitely get up and go back. And we were flying the best airline ever VIRGIN AMERICA so how i fucked this one up twice i’ll never know. Anyways now we’ll probably just fly straight to texas and hope everything works out at sxsw. Shit Shit Shit, I guess NYC just doesn’t want us to leave.

I have seen her a bunch of times, but never talked to her. I was Cobrasnaking for Mark at SXSW. I took photos of her and Spankrock performing. After the show, me and Matt Colon are standing out in front of the party. The boys start talking. She is standing right next to me. I just turn to her and go “I love you.†The two of them sort of try to keep talking and pretend I am not being that weird. She makes a good attempt to not look at me like I am totally insane and says thanks. She probably doesn’t remember. Hopefully, she doesn’t remember. I have had a bunch of “I thought I saw you at *said* party/show, but it was Amanda Blank†messages from friends. But, I just don’t buy it. She is way cooler than me. Even if we sort of look alike, she is probably standing around being cool, while I am tripping and falling attempting to walk up the stairs. She is all pretty smiling for some photo. While, Mark Hunter is trying to put my boob back in my dress so he can take a picture of me.
Plus, she can rap and I just talk really fast.
Woke up at 10am still feeling full from the Whataburger.
Got my shit together and got down to Emo’s cuz I was supposed to be there by 11.
I see Jill Gram and Kathy and Shwayze walking by, I say what up we talk for a bit. We go to the Habana restaurant to meet up with the Whitestarr dudes, lauren is there helpin out cisco. Steve shows up and spins for a bit. Matt the manager dude is there with him.
I decide to get the fuck over to Emo’s because it’s like 12:30 now and i’m running way late.
As usual in SXSW nobody knows what the fuck is going on. Noone knows where my turntables are. Noone knows where i’m spinning and it ends up Wes has em in the other emo’s and he’s spinning now as a special guest. So I have no turntables.
Whatev’s now i’m getting compensated to kick it. I give my drink tickets away to some pretty ladies, and head over to the Dim Mak / Nylon / Diesel event to spin there.
Saw Pony Up chatted for a bit with those girls. They’re awesome on all fronts. Great musicians, great people, great conversationalists. Hung out with the business savvy and ultra talented Heartschallenger crew.
Scanners were great as were Oh No! Oh My! I was playing inbetween sets and chilling a lot.
Oh yaa the dudes from Simian Mobile Disco did a DJ set inbetween mine.
They’re some nice guys.
Ummmmmm Mark and Sarah were running around both Cobrasnaking. And Sarahs phone restarted for a good 4 hours plus.
Basically after that I took rony to his party he was Photoboothing at, and drove back to 6th st-ish. Then I saw Paris and Spank and a baltimore lady friend and gave them a ride to Narem’s hotel.
Then I had to head to meet up with Nils and Lara, I then did some interviewing with Carrick and the Everybody Else dudes.
Then Nils and Lara and I headed to interview The Hush Sound people. Theyre some nice kids having a great time, love that.
Then back to Rony’s partay, it was like LA meets the hollerboard in that bitch. Them Jeans, The Rub, Devin, Dan Oh, Spencer, Sonny, Brother Reade, Yppah, and so many more wonderful people I don’t want to have to HTML link to.
Damn these are some long posts recently. I’ll work on keepin em short but SXSW is too crazy.

Good times.
So my friends it’s been a long strange trip. But not in that weird deadhead kind of way, in that SXSW road trip extravaganza kind of way.
I just got back from partying tonight in Austin and I called it a night pretty early because I gotta handle shit tomorrow at Emo’s.
yayay.
Anyways this has been one of the craziest road trips of my life. We’ve been eating a lot of mexican food, and hitting a lot of antique/thrift stores from Los Angeles, to Austin.
We left Eagle Rock pretty late, because Rony wanted to get his brakes fixed before we left (we didn’t haha). Then once we got on the road we made a few stops to take some photos in arizona. We did some work for Rony at kinkos in phoenix and I called my internet come real life DJ buddy E-Rock. He was super kind and let us stay at his pad in Tuscon, and when we got up the next morning at 7 am it was on the road again.
We drove through New Mexico (The land of Enchantment – Me and Margot from Keep both love that).
I saw a big teepee and requested we pull the fuck over. We did, rony took some more pictures, cuz that’s what he does. I bought a fanny pack, and fireworks because that’s what I do.

Rony found these Locusts that had gotten burned by some wildfire that was started by some kids lighting off fireworks (not me I promise).

That day were trying to make it out to White Sands, New Mexico and we did. It was incredible. Rony was taking pictures, and drooling like he was in photographer heaven.
He was shooting Julie and Nature so I had to find my own model. Luckily I found this sultry little plastic vixen.
I made him look pretty fierce in the sand.
That’s him and me, we’re freaking cool.
I did some tacky sand shout outs. Hi Velvet Leaf Laura, she had a rough week so I thought i’d give her a shout out. She’s a role model also, high schools all over the country want her to speak to their children.

Then we booked it out of white sands and drove into the night. We got all the way to Van Horn, Texas. Which is pretty far.
We drove through El Paso and ate at Village Inn, Village Inn was like my sunday meal place with the family when I was growing up in Iowa. We would get Village Inn and then go to my grandma’s auction house, so it was cool to eat it again.
Anyways so El Paso’s pretty nut’s because you can see mexico right across the way, and it’s Night and Day compared to America.
I didn’t have any internet friends in Van Horn, so we crashed at some sketchy motel. I took a picture of Julie looking like a trailerpark princess.

In Fort Stockton we had some awful mexican food, and some really good Lemonade. Rony asked for an “Arnold Palmer” and the lady looked at him like he was crazy. It was funny as fuck.

South by Southwest “Highlight” bands announced. Of course there will be a thousand more bands playing random gigs all over austin and generally making me fall over dead with glee. I think I should DJ down there it would be a good excuse to go down to Austin.
