So there’s this 12 year old girl who I assume lives in Chicago (thank johnnnny) or some metropolitan area and is the face of serious change. She was born in 1996, think about that! She has grown up with the internet, cell phones, hd, xm, you name it. She probably was fluent at basic html, css and photoshop by the time she was 9 and her blog – Style Rookie is the product of this amazingness.
She is so witty and intelligent i’ve spent the last 90 minutes thinking about it, this is what the future looks like. She probably has some graphic design momma and architect dad and their dislike for comic sans and crappy furniture has manifested into a love for fashion in her. It’s really pretty incredible; she is the first byproduct of a generation who’s intellect, taste, and “swagger” were directly shaped by the internet and age of communication. Awesome.
Tavi did the video below after rushing into H+M trying to get the collection by Rei Kawakubo (Comme Des Garcon). So ill.
Edit: I got bored and tried to cut up these vocals and throw em on a beat, my gift to little miss Tavi for killing it on the internet lol.

The new L.A. boutique has designer clothes, and an expiration date. Can you make it in time?
For the past few years, avant-garde Japanese label Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo has operated a series of Guerrilla Stores around the world. The concept of the conceptual designer was to invade an unassuming space, stick around only for a year, pack everything up, and boutique-surf to another international city.
The first Guerrilla Store opened 2004 in Berlin—though it broke its promise and became a permanent store —and CDG residencies found temporary abode in Beirut, Athens, Warsaw, and Singapore thereafter.
Now after four years, the xenophilous iconic label finally makes its U.S. debut, inhabiting a former bank space in downtown Los Angeles. We just hope this is only the beginning of Comme in America (ahem, New York). Guess we’ll have to wait a year and find out…

this is ‘prada marfa’, an unusual building located in the desert near marfa, texas on an otherwise desolate stretch of highway 90. behind the glass a selection of shoes and bags, presumably more expensive than the structure itself, have sat untouched since 2005.

very few people have ever been inside prada marfa and money has never been handed over inside the premises as it’s actually a spooky piece of art / clever promotional stunt erected by michael elmgreen and ingar dragset, 2 berlin artists seemingly intent on playing with the public’s minds.

from the artists…
‘..the combination of a vast, open desert landscape in an un-populated area and a luxury goods store is completely unthinkable. nature suits fashion as a visual backdrop, as one often sees in advertisement. the minimal, corporate prada design and the desolate surrounding ranch land make a great impression together, but simultaneously the two forces also render each other useless.’

I try not to post about celebrities. But this image is hilarious.

Graduation looming, Rob Shuck eyed the future and didn’t like what he saw. So he stayed in college—for a dozen years. Who do you think’s having a better time—you or him?
On a crisp and sunny Saturday morning in early March, in the shadow of Cornell University, 150 coeds with good teeth and good hair mill about a fraternity house. The place smells like a hangover, and the wood floors feel as if they’ve been shellacked with Milwaukee’s Best. Girls sip coldish Riesling from oversize plastic cups, barking into cell phones; boys play beer pong and talk about how drunk they’re going to get this afternoon.

Dora I totally just jacked your myspace picture.
American Apparel – Serving all you liberal blue state voting hipsters with garments has been acuired by the corporate yuppies you pretend to hate in PoliSci class.
by “Endeavor Acquisition Corporation“. The company was sold for around $383 million, and Dov will still be the CEO.
Yaaa Dov! More parties at the crib! And the Beach House! And the Cabin! And the house wherever the fuck you want it because you are filthy rich now.
See kids, a love for porn and vintage t-shirts can actually be a career. You just gotta get some working capital and some girls to get half naked in your gear.
New Rave Shmu Wave
Rave n’ Rock all day.
Old people have the best style. This “gent” is probably the wisest guy anyone knows and he can put together a nice little number without even trying.

Pictures are popping up of the new NeckFace X Vans collection.
The dude has generally been nice to me, and while some of the homies have been known to dislike him i’m gonna throw these pics up anyway and let you decide what you think of the gear/him.

Oh yaaa, who listens to Zwan? Probably just me. And probably just this song. Well maybe Honestly also.
