Man that was awesome, I knew it was gonna be cool - but I had no idea it would be all of my best friends getting wasted and tearing shit up together. Somehow paper mag sat my table next to the pegleg fam (harry & scott), Angels & Kings table (crush management, travie, etc), trouble and bass’ table, and the retro kidz who were 2 feet from the stage. I dragged AC Slater, Jen, Ricky from moodwing, Sabrina and Sandra to the awards also, so by the end of the night Luca (Curses/DTL), Patrick (The Captain), Ben (Passions), Vivian (Star Eyes) Travie and us were throwing ice on stage dancing to the hip hop bombs Mark Ronson was playing and being collectively blown away by how amazing Solange Knowles’ voice was. She can sing her ass off. Srsly.

Anyways I won the award for Best DJ and it made the night even more amazing, it was incredible to even be included in the same breath as James Murphy, A-Trak, Juske and everyone else while sharing the bill with friends I’ve known for years like Franki Chan, Harley and Cassie.

Thanks go out to Paper Magazine for throwing an amazing event and showcasing all the people who make going out in NY and all over the USA so much fun.

The room we were in had Boys Noize, Digitalism, Tocadisco, Hot Chip (Live), Booka Shade and more.. The room next to us had Ed Rec All Stars, Crookers, Mehdi, Feadz, Busy P, Justice etc. and the middle room had The Bloody Beetroots, Surkin, and Brodinski. Other rooms featured Underworld (Live), Richie Hawtin, Audion, David Hood, etc. etc. There was something like 45,000 people at the event. Just look at this picture.. this was the room I played in.. and I played the opening set!

So i’m back home with fulll internets and catching up on my blogggs and what do i stumble across on HRO but this new Kings of Leon video. This is a great song, that little guitar solo kind of bothers me I don’t know why but it’s still a great song.

Also hello Lily Aldridge making out with her man in the video. Way to go and be that couple who is winning at everything in life.

Um touring is fun last night we were in Jersey played the school of rock which is like the same “rock school” brand from the documentary. It was a legit high school and all these HXC jersey kids were working security and talking about the scene. I used to wanna be up in Jersey goin to Lifetime shows soo bad. Kinda funny to see where its at now.

Made it back to NYC last night and flew out this morning, actually to bring this thing full circle - one of my best NYC trips was spent in Lily Aldridge’s apartment with the DTF extended family haaa. Thirsty, Kyle and I would go out till 5am wake up at 4pm, watch the best of Oprah on dvd, then go skate around everyday for a week like clockwork. So much funnnn.
