10. Waka Flocka – Flockavelli

This whole album goes so hard. Listened to it non stop since it came out, only reason im throwin it at the end of the pack is cuz im not sure how its gonna age. Either way FLOCKKKKKA.

9. Lady Gaga – Fame Monster

Probably my favorite live show I went to all year (her or Big Freedia I guess). But Gaga is SMASHING and this song “monster” is probably the best song of the year. Gaga as a writer/performer/star is unmatched right now. Killllllin it.

8. Ost & Kjex – Cajun Lunch

Brilliant album front to back, this is the kind of music I WISH I could make, but all I got coming out of me is pop melodies and emo lyrics haha.

7. Arcade Fire – The Suburbs

Arcade Fire pretty much defined early 2000s indie rock with Funeral and set the bar EXTREMELY high for themselves. But Suburbs is about as good as it gets again. The kinda album that will give you chills on a train ride and score your life as you drive to work or walk to school. Serious craftsmanship.

6. Kanye – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Honest Music is GOOD MUSIC. When Kanye is honest reflecting on himself and his deepest darkest emotions he’s untouchable, Runaway ist he kind of song everyone reacts too and the rest of his album is packed with those moments.

5. Zola Jesus – Stridulum EP

My favorite driving album of the year, anytime I had a long drive this was in the mix. Walls of sound and a voice that haunts.

4. Dom Kennedy – From The Westside WIth Love

Dom Kennedy is my favorite rapper out. What I love about Dom is that he knows who he is, so many rappers have these identity crisis’ and make dubstep songs and electro songs and whatever else is hot. Dom is a rapper and the best rapper out. Period. Fact. Next Album.

3. Drake – Thank Me Later

Drake to me has always felt like a hood rendition of Emo/Pop Punk. His songs have the lyrical honesty of a 16 year old emo band, super literal and super heartfelt. I guess thats why I fuck with it so hard, well that and the fact that when Drake has Sade moments he’s untouchable. But to this day I cant believe I like wheelchair Jimmy’s music wtf .

2. Francis and The Lights – It’ll Be Better

I absolutely rinsed this EP, one of my favorite songwriters/performers in the world. Can’t wait to see what he brings us in 2011.

1. Caribou – Swim

Probably the album I’ve played the most this year. Simple, sonically refreshing and super hooky. Incredible album.
