Below is Beyonce’s new video for her song “diva” directly below that is Santogolds video for creator. Is it flattering or disgusting how all these serious top 40 hit machines are reaching to “indie” artists for inspiration?

I’m gonna go ahead and assume beyonce or someone in her crew decided they needed some cred and pulled up Santogold on youtube like “she’s cool right? let’s just do her video again. ”

Not like Beyonce hasn’t reached for “inspiration” before

My question to you people? Am I crazy? Are there glaring similarities? Is it a totally fresh concept? Or Did Beyonce Bite Santogold? Yes/No?

    well in my opinion i don’t think she is biting santa golds video. beyonce video had waay more detail
    butno doubt her other video was a remake of the three white ladies dancing

    mos def she’s bitin dude i believe the reason the main stream acts get inspiration from indie dudes is because not so many people know indie dudes like santogold, beyonce for now to alot people is going to be known as the one who started that whole weird sound thing going on in there videos.

    to assume at this point that Beyonce has any control over what she looks/taste/sounds like would be a hilarious mistake. she’s so manicured for the mindless public that i’m shocked that this garbage hasn’t yet been spat right back in her face. the simple fact that most artist in her league sell off product shout outs in the form of lyrics to the highest bidder should undoubtedly render any thought of creative control obsolete. she is nothing more than a corporate controlled commercial. (ie. “upgrade U” – windows vista)

    as for the similarities in the two videos, i wouldn’t be surprised if the treatment hand been inspired by santogold’s image, but i would bet that Beyonce’s camp did little more than agree to it. still, it would be no shock if she claimed credit for the Santogold-inspiration just as she did with Mexican breakfast. i mean, Al Gore invented the internet, right?
