Real Heads Vs. Bandwagoners

So as I sit back from my stoop in NYC and view LA from the other coast I’ve noticed a proper rift between the so called “real heads” and the so called “bandwagoners” emerging.

basically real heads are the d00dz who supposedly were all about crookers 2 years ago and bandwagoners are the supposed alt-bros who heard of them last week and are soooo down with that new justice/nu rave/hipster/emo sound.

Now these are broad generalizations but pretty much that’s how it is.

Anyway these get money types have catered to both groups for halloween and the Real Heads party is looking kinda ill! Dance Right / MFG / Metromix are throwing it and it’s Discoed out.

The bandwagoners party is chock full of ill big ticket acts :: “JUSTICE, SOULWAX, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO, DEADMAU5, BOYS NOIZE, CROOKERS, CRYSTAL CASTLES, JASON BENTLEY, DJ AM, DESTRUCTO and much more.”

The standout there is clearly soulwax. Basically all the “real heads” are bummed because they don’t wanna be caught dead at Hard surrounded by Shutter Shades and day-glo. But they still LOVEEEEE Soulwax. How can you not. Boys Noize is quite the DJ as well. I got a feeling all the real heads gonnna be hitting up mr. Paparazzi to get on that late night guest list.

Also on that tip? Who’s headlining HARD? Soulwax? Justice? I’m thinking hierarchy should be like this:

1. Soulwax
2. Justice
3. Deadmau5
4. Crookers
5. Boys Noize

As for my plans on halloween i’m either gonna be in Miami or LA for a playboy party. If i’m in LA i’ll probably try and catch soulwax after I do my set at the Playboy thang. With all those acts Hard’s gotta run late right?

Also I don’t think I really find myself in either of those categories. I still love me some crookers tunes and that Holy Ghost rmx of I like to Move in Here is my jimmy jam. Besides I still would probably lump myself into the rock n roll/hxc category as I listen to that shit 90% of the time anyway.

Also I wanna start a goth/industrial/dark wave night. who wants to get creepy? I already know adri does.

    Kinda Elitist dude. And I back 99% of what you say on here. I know what you mean living in L.A. and going to see Surkin and being the oldest one there by 5 years (I’m also 22) but in reality isn’t it kinda cool that kids in middle school are all about Crookers and Ed Banger. Don’t jump the bandwagon just because it’s popular now. On that note, I will be attending Hard (Disco on Halloween come on now). On the other hand Crystal Castles on Halloween is going to be priceless.

    But i suppose this initially was spawned as a commentary on what is going in LA…

    but it seems as though I took one side cuz i used a derogatory nickname “bandwagoner”

    I pretty much <3 the bandwagon. Not only is it amazing to see 2000 kids raging to bloghouse. It’s amazing to see 2000 kids raging to dance music.

    i also love this disco/house stuff and i’m hyped to go see Holy Ghost tonight in NY.

    So I guess what i’m saying is I hope this bandwagon keeps running and it chains the mainstream club shit in 4 years when these kids are 18 sneakin into clubs (i kid I kid)

    Although this has really turned into much more than it should have haha.
