Obama’s Speech on Race.

March 18th, 2008 - Posted By: Skeet Skeet · 12 Comments

Come on. This was some selfless stuff, I guarantee you every person in his campaign who had a say was in his ear like “Just denounce your pastor, move on, let this blow over.” And barack easily could have done that, but he went big, kept it really real and may have fucked his campaign. But he did what was right, and in an incredibly well written (by barack himself) speech he voiced his opinion on race and showed that this country is a special one. As much as I can bash the US of A this man gives me hope.

He doesn’t play by the safe political rules and it may cost him the election but this dude is saying things that need to be said.

Sadly this may be way too complicated of a speech and a message for most of america. News outlets are gonna shrink it into a 4 word headline and that’s all most of us will see.

Don’t be that person, watch the speech above. Gather your thoughts, create an opinion and let me know what you think down below.

(sorry this got political but christ this was a ballsy move on Baracks part)

I hold this speech far more constructive than any news feed ten second blurb of patriotic rhetoric that any candidate has made thus far.

Although, when categorizing the white community as one of the immigrant mentality, hes making vast generalizations of an entire group of people. This could prove to be isolating and damaging. Whether or not his speech was declaratively bold and insightful in articulating progressive ideals or presumptuous and excluding of the singular “white community” is yet to be determined by the media.

    On an equal note…
Nobody’s looking at the Minister of John McCain, Hagee, who has blamed September 11th on acceptance of gays. McCain has not distanced himself one iota unlike Obama.

WOW….This is exactly what America needs right now, COURAGE, to stand up for what is right. Alot has been said about comparing Barrack to JFK, until this speech I didn’t really feel that this was true, but now I know. Thanks for posting this

thats why im voting for obama.

when he talks about the fact that we have to understand both sides of the story in this whole racial issue, i think thats exactly it. if the majority of people in the us could grasp this idea i think our country would be a much happier place. fa real tho.

Awesome, I was looking for someone who had a good stance on this video earlier and I ran across yours. Although, I don’t think that this speech will hinder his election process.. I am not sayin’ I want Obama for 08, but I believe this will make him more popular. Come on over to http://www.DHADM.com sometime.
