The other night I was at my friends house with a couple of friends, there was a girl at the party who I had never seen before. She seemed like your average 20 year old girl, maybe a little JT some Akon and Young Jeezy and that was just fine with me.
That was until her her phone rang and she sat bobbing her head to Robots in Disguise - Turn it Up. This of course sealed the deal for me and left me wondering, I remember being like 12 years old thinking MxPx was gonna be the hugest thing to hit the music world, then Blink 182 hit (sort of out of nowhere for me). Then I thought for sure AFI would be the hugest thing in the world, and they’re up there now but Good Charlotte definitely beat them to the “Goth Pop Punk” punch.
Anyways it got me wondering if a group like Justice or MSTRKRFT that has such a huge following in the “indie-electro” world could be shown up commercially by a group like Robots in Disguise. I don’t see why not.
