So today Me, Matt (my business manager), and Evan a guy I do a lot of design with went to Papa Jakes over on little santa monica in Beverly Hills for lunch. We sit down and this larger african american gentleman sits down next to us. We start shooting the shit and he asks us where Mr. Chows is. He’s eating so we know he’s not looking for a place to eat and we go back to our meals. Then he tells us he has a meeting across from Mr. Chows. We’re like yaa whatever another LA name dropper dude. He then asks us what we do and I tell him i’m a poolboy “you know i check the PH…”. As I tell most people who throw out a few random comments before asking me what I do. Matt tells him that he’s in the music business and the dude tell us that “we wouldn’t believe what he did if he told us.” So we just nod off and go back to our meals. Then he asks us what we think of the new Jay-Z record. I tell him it’s awful. Just a joke. And he matt says hes not that into it and thinks he should have stopped after the black album. Evan says about the same.
Long story short this guy is Jay-Z’s brother he’s out here on some business and he does a lot of work with athletes blah blah blah. But he was real cool, and he even showed us his *gasp* wikipedia entry on his blackberry. Heyoooooooh.
But he was nice and he thinks i’m crazy because I don’t tell people what I actually do when they ask me.
Anyway Jay’s album still sucks. And heres a nice little stat.
According to hitsdailydouble, Jay-Z sold 133,146 records last week, a whopping drop of 81%.
And he has a new doll out.
Wow. Just Wow.
